Overview

Dr. Dhurjati Prasad Ray is the Senior Ophthalmic Consultant in the hospital and a renowned surgeon. He did his MBBS from Bankura Sammilani Medical College,Bankura,West bengal, post graduation in Ophthalmology from KMC, Manipal, Karnataka. He worked as Senior registrar in Ophthalmology in CMC, Vellore, Tamil Nadu for two years. He was trained and did his Phaco fellowship from LVPEI, Hyderabad. He was trained in advanced phaco techniques at Chandraprabha Eye Hospital, Jorhat. He is an expert surgeon having done more than 30,000 cataract surgeries. He also performs glaucoma surgeries, oculoplasty surgeries and handles trauma cases.

Under his leadership hospital received "National Award" in 2005 for Community Eyecare Services.

As a District Governor of Lions Clubs international-322F he was a pioneer in launching and working for Campaign Sight First I and Campaign Sight First II.
